Masiphumelele Library

The informal settlement of Masiphumelele, Cape Town, South Africa came into existence in 1992. The present library, built in 2003 by MasiCorp was run by Fish Hoek Library as a satellite. MasiCorp went on to build an extension in 2005 and a park in front of the library in 2006. In 2010 the Outreach centre was opened, funded primarily by Peninsula Beverages and Exclusive books carefully project managed by the Rotary Club of Newlands. The library achieved community library status in 2012.
